Our approach focuses on a triple bottom line foundation, conservation efforts, service to our local community, and educational programs. Two concepts drive this portion of our philosophy: Sustainable Tourism & Ecotourism.

Sustainable tourism

The UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines sustainable tourism as tourism which takes a triple bottom line approach, balances environmental, economic and socio-cultural concerns:

"Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities"

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), defines ecotourism as:

"Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education"

Ecotourism should provide direct financial benefits for conservation and local people and is focused on the conservation of natural resources.
